Waterford welcomes wind turbine blades

The BBC Citrine, a multipurpose vessel operated by BBC Chartering, docked at the port of Waterford in Ireland to unload a consignment of wind turbine blades produced by Vestas, for the Cushaling wind farm, Ireland.

This delivery, overseen by renewable energy firm Statkraft, involved the handling of wind turbine blades measuring 80 meters in length, marking a record for imported blades in Ireland, as confirmed by the Port of Waterford.

The successful execution of this project was made possible through the collaboration of various entities including Celtic Shipping Agencies, haulier Collett & Sons, stevedores Southeast Port Services, as well as the dedicated efforts of port personnel including marine, tug, and mooring operators, pilots, and agents.

A subsequent shipment of tower sections is expected to arrive at the port later in the current week.
