Pantograph Charging Powers 56 New eBuses in Brussels
Brussels strengthens its eBus network as 56 new electric buses enter service, supported by pantograph charging systems that keep operations reliable and scalable for the future.
Brussels has reached an important milestone in the shift to cleaner mobility. Public transport operator STIB-MIVB has deployed 56 new fully electric buses, supported by the installation of pantograph charging systems across the city.
This development is part of a broader effort to replace older diesel models and prepare for the continued expansion of electric fleets. With reliable charging points now in place, STIB-MIVB is positioned to integrate additional vehicles in the coming years, with more than 50 new eBuses already expected next year.
Projects of this scale highlight how successful electrification depends on strong collaboration between operators, technology providers, and infrastructure partners. By bringing together expertise across the value chain, Brussels is building a foundation for reliable, future-ready public transport.
The transition underway in the Belgian capital underlines a clear message: sustainable mobility is no longer a vision for the future — it is being delivered on the ground, one project at a time.
