Large-Scale Charging Hub Under Construction in Luxembourg
A €1.6M project in Luxembourg is transforming a parking area into a full eBus charging hub, complete with HV infrastructure, DC chargers, and civil works to support electrification at scale.
A major electrification project is underway in Luxembourg, where an existing depot is being converted into a fully equipped charging site for eBuses. With a total contract value of €1.6 million, the project reflects Europe’s push to scale sustainable public transport in line with EU climate goals.
The scope includes the delivery of three 1000 kVA transformers fully integrated with high-voltage infrastructure, ensuring reliable performance for large-scale charging operations. Twenty-three DC chargers are being installed to support thirty pantographs, with scalable outputs ranging from 150 to 300 kW per unit.
Alongside the electrical works, extensive civil works have been executed to prepare the site and support long-term operations of the charging infrastructure. The transformation of the former parking area into a complete charging node demonstrates how public transport operators across Europe are adapting to meet the demands of the energy transition.
This project highlights the importance of integrated EPC delivery in scaling electrification. From high-voltage substations to charging infrastructure and civil foundations, each element plays a critical role in enabling a reliable, future-ready transport system.
