Blue Gate Logistics Park Antwerp

This is Blue Gate Logistics Park Antwerp. Once a polluted brownfield at the edge of the city, it has transformed into Belgium’s most sustainable logistics zone. The result of one of the most ambitious soil remediation efforts in the country, made possible through close collaboration between public and private partners. Since 2016, Montea has played a leading role in redeveloping the site, delivering state-of-the-art distribution centers that are BREEAM Excellent, energy-positive, and built with sustainable materials like Cross Laminated Timber (CLT). 🏆 The Blue Gate Antwerp Logistics Park project has earned national and international recognition: - Realty Award for Sustainable Building (Industrial & Logistics) - Munich Expo Real Impact Award 2024 - Multimodal access by bike, road and water ensures smart, sustainable urban delivery. Each distribution center is fully operational and built for today’s logistics needs, but already prepared for what tomorrow might bring. Even before design began, we anticipated how future requirements could evolve, making it possible to adapt the buildings - through rooftop utilities or energy infrastructure. Three years ago, we started investing in battery storage. Today, AI helps us unlock its full potential. At Montea, sustainability has always been about creating long-term value. That is why we started investing in battery energy storage systems (BESS) several years ago. With 92 MW of solar capacity across four countries, we generate a significant amount of renewable energy. But producing energy is only part of the equation. The real challenge is using more of that energy locally. As logistics continues to electrify and grid capacity becomes increasingly constrained, battery storage is becoming much more than a way to store electricity. It enables us to optimise local energy use and make better use of the available grid capacity for our clients. AI is an important part of that evolution. The amount of data generated by solar panels, batteries, charging infrastructure and buildings has become simply too large for traditional rule-based systems. Intelligent algorithms help us make better decisions in an increasingly complex energy landscape. Managing energy is becoming increasingly data-driven. With the amount of data available today, AI is becoming an essential tool for making better energy decisions.

Montea and Delhaize launch new home shop center in Vorst.

Delhaize strengthens its leadership in home food delivery. Delhaize's home delivery customers will enjoy even better service and greater product availability. The new building was developed by real estate investor Montea, who acquired the former Lipton site in 2008 as part of a long-term redevelopment program. Montea was with the Delhaize Home Shop Delivery Center shortlisted for the Climate Future Project Award. This nomination underscores the company's commitment to sustainable, future-ready logistics.

Montea develops ca. 50.000 m² for Lekkerland (NL)

Montea, a developer and investor in logistics real estate, and Lekkerland, part of the German REWE group, a provider of innovative retail solutions and logistics services, signed an agreement for the development of a new distribution center with a built-up area of approximately 50,000 m² at Logistiek Park A12 in Waddinxveen. A sustainable, state-of-the-art refrigerated and frozen distribution center with the highest possible GPR score is being developed for Lekkerland at this park. Among other things, the roof will be used for the installation of solar panels, which, together with the adjacent part of the development, completed in 2022, will create a roof area of 80,000 m², which will eventually generate enough electricity to meet the needs of 3,200 households.
