China’s largest heavy-lift carrier enters Kola Bay

The 255-metre-long ‘Xin Guang Hua’ has successfully delivered a key industrial module for the LNG construction centre in Belokamenka.

The vessel is reportedly the second-largest vessel in the world, is owned by shipping company COSCO and has previously made multiple visits to the far northern Russian region.

However, Chinese yards have expressed their unwillingness to cooperate with Novatek and its Arctic LNG 2 following Russia’s onslaught on Ukraine and the introduction of international sanctions.

This new development is set to stall project developments.
