New shipping service links Dammam to global ports
Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced additional services to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam in hopes of boosting direct trade and shipping between Saudi Arabia and the rest of the world.
The new service will establish a connection between the capital of the Eastern Province and the ports of Jebel Ali in the UAE, Khalifa Bin Salman in Bahrain, Hamad in Qatar, and the Mundra port in India every two weeks via the vessel named Green Ace, which has a capacity of 1,740 TEUs.
The development is part of a drive by Saudi ports to increase ports and the maritime sector as well as upgrade its portfolio of services to importers, exporters, and shipping agents in what is an extension of Mawani’s ambition of strengthening the logistics industry.
