New team member, Sarah!

We would like to introduce our new Sales Executive, Sarah to the AntwerpXL team. Find out more about Sarah’s background, and how she is spending her first few weeks. Welcome to the team, Sarah!

Tell us a bit about yourself?

Hello! I first moved to London to complete my Drama degree; this was at Kingston University where I still live now! I spent the first 5/6 years of my life down here taking part in various productions and theatre workshops. After this, I decided I wanted a career in sales, which led me to Life Science Roundtable Events and Defence shows. My drama degree helped me a lot, always thinking outside of the box and putting myself in other people’s shoes. And also being able to converse well and build relationships. During my spare time, I enjoy going to the gym, photography, and spending time with loved ones 😊

What was your first week like?

It has been so long since I have been in an office, so I was extremely nervous! But very excited at the same time. I felt very welcome instantly!  I have been given lots of tools and training guides to start off with, so I’m just getting to grips with everything! Making lots of notes on the show and looking at sales tips so I’m ready to get stuck in. My first day has been very quiet, so I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of the team and learning more from them.

Why are you most looking forward to working with us?

I enjoy meeting new people and learning new things, I feel very lucky to be working for one of the leaders in the industry and to learn more about the exhibition sector and of breakbulk and all things AntwerpXL. Also being able to travel and speak/meet lots of different people from all over the world.

How do you feel about coming out of lockdown and heading back into the office more often?

It’s a big change as I have been working remotely for over a year now, however it’s great to be able to meet people in person again and to get out of the house. I also have a lot of books I need to get through which is always nice on the train with a coffee 😊

What do you do in your free time?

I love cooking, I set up a Gluten-Free food blog on Instagram during the pandemic where I’d upload recipes, etc. I love going out drinking, going for cocktails, shopping, listening to music and going on long walks 😊
