Groep Van Roey
About us
Group Van Roey in a nutshell? That is one group, made up of 12 rock-solid companies. The most important ingredient in our DNA? Care. For our people, our partners, our customers and actually the entire society.
Somewhat surprising for a construction group? Not necessarily... that focus on well-being, sustainable partnerships and social responsibility has kept us on course for 300 years. At the front of the fleet, even. Because support gives strength. The strength of the group makes us all stronger, while we fully cherish and allow the unique strength of each group company and each employee to flourish.
Our values, vision, culture, ... even the shareholding: they all have one thing in common. We deliberately keep it family-oriented! In this way, we consistently aim for sustainable value creation: people-oriented, ecological and profitable!

DP World doel
At the Deurganckdok in the port of Antwerp, Groep Van Roey was allowed to build the new OPS (operations) office for DP World, together with a footbridge over the railway and a stair tower on the side of the parking lot. The ground floor of the office building consists of facilities for the dock workers such as a canteen, changing rooms, locker room and sanitary facilities. The offices for the employees and management are located on the higher floors. The location is special about this project. The building was built above a motorway in use, under a HS line and next to an important gas and water pipeline and a railway.

In addition to the new construction, the existing office building, against which the new combination building is connected, was also partially renovated on the ground floor. The modern complex houses the fire station, the medical service, the logistics department and security. Evonik is one of the world market leaders in specialty chemicals. It produces raw materials for car tires, bleaching agents and environmentally friendly herbicides, among other things.

Chevron Philips Tessenderlo
- Construction of a new technical building consisting of offices and an industrial workshop. - Construction of a new sanitary building. The expanded metal facade panels not only form a beautiful ‘jacket’ around the facades in industrial exposed concrete, but also fulfil the function of sun protection for the office area on the floor. Concrete and expanded metal are used here according to their best properties. They are materials that are fully recyclable. In this case, they are also dismountable, according to the concept of circular construction. The exterior joinery of the office area consists of a combination of wood and aluminium. On the inside, this wood accent is reflected in the oak of the doors. Everything was made of FSC-labelled wood.

Ineos Geel
Construction of a new administrative building in a diagonal cross shape. The new building was completed in less than a year. The roof and facade cladding are made of the same material - zinc in anthracite - which has a long lifespan. By using the same material, the architect was able to create a single volume. Thanks to the curved glass panels that separate the meeting rooms and offices, employees experience a spacious and light feeling everywhere. The working comfort is further ensured by acoustic ceilings and cupboard walls, vinyl floors with innovative backings, doubled interior joinery and integrated HVAC in all curtain cabinets. The pleasant communal areas also prove that the client pays attention to the well-being of his employees. For example, there is a dining area with a high cupboard wall with equipment that everyone can use freely. The high tables and the central island of 7 meters long invite you to have lunch together or have an informal meeting. Sports can be done in the fitness room, equipped with changing rooms and showers. The exterior design also reflects INEOS’ quest for aesthetics, functionality and sustainability. There is a bicycle parking area with charging points to promote alternative and sustainable transport options. A wooded edge was planted along the truck parking area to provide shelter for insects and small birds. In front of the entrance there is a large green area with prairie grasses and native tree species. A surprising water feature in the parking area is part of a larger infiltration network. This pond is connected to canals and to the permeable paving stones of the parking areas to meet current infiltration requirements. Finally, there is the large garden with wildflowers that employees can see through the large glass windows of the work areas and the dining and fitness area.

Janssen Pharmaceutica (gebouw 400) Beerse
Extension (new office building + cafeteria – phase 1) and renovation (renovation of existing warehouse – phase 2) The demolition and renovation works took place in the vicinity of or inside buildings that remained in use during the execution of the works. Groep Van Roey took all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the users and to protect the contents of the buildings. The duration of the works and the resulting inconvenience were kept to a minimum. Each work started was completely finished before another was started. The rooms in which work was carried out were cleaned daily, with special attention to glass splinters. Access to the buildings was also always guaranteed.
