Port of Limburg, located in Genk along the Albert Canal, is a brand-new inland terminal that makes multimodality both possible and attractive. With an annual capacity of 350,000 TEU, we offer a sustainable alternative to road transport for multimodal units to and from Belgian and Dutch deep-sea ports.
We focus on smart connectivity through daily sailings, fixed slots at sea terminals, and innovative technologies to boost terminal efficiency. At the same time, we are fully committed to green connectivity. Inland waterway transport already leads to significant emission reductions compared to road transport. But we go further. We continuously work on greening our fleet and aim for highly efficient, environmentally friendly barges.
Port of Limburg is much more than a transport hub. It is a complete logistics system, offering a wide range of value-added services that contribute to greener and smarter inland logistics. With our new terminal, we are not only meeting today’s needs, we are anticipating tomorrow’s demands.
