At Volvo Trucks in Ghent, the first electric truck in Belgium was produced. Volvo needed extra storage space for the spare parts needed for this new production.
While waiting for a new warehouse to be built, Volvo called on Veldeman for a temporary solution.
Veldeman built 3 temporary SOLID halls: one measuring 40m by 60m, one measuring 15m by 60m and one measuring 30m by 40m, each with a side wall height of 6m. The side walls consist of single-walled profiled steel sheeting. The roof is fitted with a translucent tarpaulin to benefit from natural daylight. 9 doors and 9 electric roller doors were installed for easy access. In addition, LED lighting and safety features were installed, such as emergency lighting, emergency pictograms and fire extinguishers. The halls will be used for a period of at least 2 years.
