RoRo Operators Bank on Recovery in ‘High-and-Heavy’ Market
- December 23, 2024
RoRo vessel operators are predicting a strong rebound in high-and-heavy cargo volumes next year, fuelled by rising global demand in the construction and mining sectors and increased exports from China.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen, a leading RoRo operator, highlighted that moderating interest rates, a $1.6 trillion stimulus package in China, and policy shifts under a new US administration are expected to drive this growth.
During the company’s third-quarter results briefing, CEO Lasse Kristoffersen shared insights from discussions with high-and-heavy customers, revealing optimism for sustained volume increases through 2025 and 2026.
