Broekman Logistics acquire J.C. Meijers expanding breakbulk capacity in Rotterdam

Rotterdam-based Broekman Logistics has enhanced its breakbulk operations by acquiring B.V. Expeditie- en Stuwadoors Maatschappij J.C. Meijers, a respected name in the Rotterdam stevedoring sector. As of November 1, all activities and assets of J.C. Meijers have transitioned to JCMB B.V., now a key member of Broekman Logistics.

“This acquisition is a significant step forward in the Breakbulk Carousel,” stated Broekman Logistics, referring to the 2018 initiative launched by the Port of Rotterdam Authority and other port stakeholders to bolster the breakbulk sector.

Erik Meijers, who has long led J.C. Meijers, handed over the terminal’s operations as part of this strategic transfer. Although the financial details remain undisclosed, Broekman Logistics is excited to integrate the expertise and facilities of J.C. Meijers, which will strengthen their position as specialists in breakbulk, heavy lift, and offshore services.

“This acquisition is a crucial strategic investment for Broekman Logistics, as JCMB’s location next to the Broekman Project Services terminal enables us to offer enhanced services to the breakbulk industry. We look forward to building strong collaborations with J.C. Meijers’ established customer and partner network,” says Rob van Dijk, Director of Operations at JCMB.
