Meet Raj, Sales Manager

What does sustainability mean to you and how important is it?

Sustainability to me means operating in a way that’s responsible and good for the environment, good for the communities we with work in and those we work with. The environmental aspect of sustainability is hugely important for future generations, we only have one planet, and we can all see the impact that our current way of living is having. We all must do our bit now to make sure our children and their children have a healthy world to live in in the future. As businesses we have a responsibility to share our success with the communities we engage with and in, we can all grow and thrive together, not at the expense of each other or the planet.

What was your first week like?

In a word….Intense. Having worked in events in one way or another for almost 20 years, I already had a good grounding in the industry. However, learning the Easyfairs approach, concepts and ideology meant I had a lot I had to learn and just as importantly – unlearn. The team have been amazing – very welcoming and supportive and I am looking forward to getting stuck in and helping the AntwerpXL show continue to go from strength to strength.

What are you most looking forward to whilst working with us?

Having a history of working at smaller organisers, I am excited about the opportunities that working at a prestigious international company like Easyfairs will bring. I am also keen to learn a new market, and work on a big international trade show which I am sure will be a new experience compared to the consumer shows I am used to.

What do you do in your free time?

I am an avid football fan, I also enjoy movies, and spending time with my daughter (who educates me daily on the ways of Gen Z!). I have also recently re-joined the gym so hope to progress with my fitness goals and hope to expand my travel horizons by visiting new countries.

Are you excited to be on-site? What are you looking forward to when we go?

I can’t wait to get onsite! There is no better feeling than seeing all your hard work come to fruition when the show is built, and you are waiting to open doors on the first day. It will be great to experience the event itself, meet the exhibitors and get to see the amazing interactions that we promote, the buzz of the exhibition hall, and see all the amazing face to face conversations that can only be achieved via live events.

What is a fun fact about yourself?

I have an uncanny ability to remember client contact names (a human database), and my head is full of useful football trivia. I can also quote many of my favourite films almost line for line. OK….none of that is really fun………
