New team member, Victoria!

Tell us a bit about yourself?

Hello! A bit about me… I previously organised medical meetings, symposiums, and conferences for Imperial College London (ICL). Not long after starting my role I wanted to make use of the marketing knowledge I had gained during my degree, and in doing that I created new copy for ICL websites and newsletters. In terms of hobbies and interests, I enjoy keeping fit, playing netball, watching live music, and spending quality time with friends and family. I also have the most gorgeous little Springer Spaniel called Ralphie who I love going on long walks with!

What was your first week like?

My first week was quite daunting, complete information overload! But that is always the way with a new role and a new business, and I was prepared for it to be like that, so I knuckled down and wrote pages and pages of notes. I am absorbing a lot more now and I’m enjoying being in a purely marketing-based role. Every day presents a new challenge, and I am learning so much from my colleagues who have such great experiences. Very positive overall!

Why are you most looking forward to working with us?

The thing I love about starting a new role is meeting new people and learning lots about them and their backgrounds. So far, the whole team seems like they work super hard and have great marketing experience, so I’m looking forward to onboarding lots of knowledge. They also have a good laugh every day which is a bonus! I’m excited to get to know everyone a lot more over the next few weeks, as well as the wider teams. I am also looking forward to broadening my knowledge of the entire exhibitions sector, as well as the niche area of breakbulk and all things AntwerpXL.

How do you feel about coming out of lockdown and heading back into the office more often?

I have been fortunate enough to go into the office once a week since I’ve been with Easyfairs and it has been so lovely meeting everyone and getting a real feel for the culture. I am keen to continue with going in a few days a week, that sense of normality will be great. I have also been reading a lot fewer books as I no longer have an hour-long commute. Who would have thought I would miss my commute…but I love a good book and would typically get through a couple a month, so that’s something to look forward to.

What do you do in your free time?

I am always listening to music or the radio, whether I’m cooking, getting ready for work, on lunch…a good tune brings so much to the table. I also love eating out and going for drinks with family and friends. Bring on the warm weather so we can all enjoy a good BBQ with great people, food, and music!
