What precautions are you putting in place to tackle the current coronavirus outbreak?

Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all exhibitors and visitors is our primary concern. Our venue, Antwerp Expo, remains open and events are taking place as planned. We continue to liaise closely with and follow advice from Antwerp Expo which is based on the latest information from the Government, Federal Public Service for Health, Belgium, and WHO.

Will there be exhibitors from countries affected by the coronavirus at the event?

There will not be any exhibitors from the following countries: mainland China, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Macau.

We will continue to monitor guidance on other affected countries and act accordingly.

Exhibitors who are from countries where there are no travel restrictions in place will appear at the event as planned.

Will there be visitors from affected areas at the event?

Visitor registrations from countries affected by the coronavirus are relatively low and we will be contacting these individuals to advise them not to attend the event. All visitors are advised to maintain good personal hygiene, including handwashing, while at the event.

The organiser’s office (located by the show entrance) has stocks of hand sanitizers and there will be advice displayed around the venue.

The cleaning teams at Antwerp Expo are also focusing on any areas where the virus could be more likely to spread including:

  • Hard surfaces: reception areas, kitchen areas, breakout areas and toilets
  • Control pads: vending machines and lifts
  • Door handles: main entrances, hall floor entrances, meeting rooms, stairways and toilet entrances, as well as exit push buttons
  • Handrails and bannisters

Will Antwerp XL 2020 be going ahead as planned?

Yes, it will. There will be no change to the date for Antwerp XL 2020 and the venue, Antwerp Expo, is open for business as usual. We’re confident this year’s event will be even better than last year for exhibitors and visitors, and look forward to welcoming you along.

Are you expecting a drop in visitor numbers due to the concerns around the spread of the coronavirus?

Our visitor registrations are ahead of year-on-year figures and visitor numbers from affected countries are relatively low; therefore, we do not expect the coronavirus to have a negative impact on the event. We are looking forward to welcoming thousands of visitors to Antwerp XL 2020 and we are confident it will be a fantastic event for everyone involved.

Who should I contact if I have concerns during the event?

If you start to feel unwell while exhibiting at Antwerp XL 2020, please inform a member of the organiser team. The onsite team is fully briefed and has plans in place to deal with anyone experiencing symptoms of coronavirus. This includes separate areas to isolate people until they can be taken to hospital.

What should I do if I believe someone else may be displaying symptoms of coronavirus?

Please share your concerns with the event team at the organiser’s office and we will investigate and take appropriate action.
